Manhattan

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Fifth Avenue

1000 5th Ave, New York, NY 10028

Grace's former professional stomping grounds of three years.

LOOK FOR: The Temple of Dendur, Arts of Oceania, the Calligraphy galleries, Islamic prayer rugs, halls of  "invisible storage."

Central Park Bird Feeder Area

North of the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park

The most magical place in all of Central Park, especially in the snow. We spent the first Snow Day of last year watching the birds.

LOOK FOR: Flocks of sparrows and rare Red Cardinals.

Maison Pickle

2315 Broadway, New York, NY 10024

One of our regular haunts, rain or shine.

CONSIDER: French dip sandwiches, 24-layer salted vanilla cake, specialty cocktails (Yoon: Maison Punch, Grace: Father in Law).

Patisserie Chanson

20 W 23rd St, New York, NY 10010

Dessert has never been handled with more care.

We had the six-course (!!!) prix-fixe at the downstairs Dessert Bar before Yoon popped the question back home in Astoria.

Angel's Share

8 Stuyvesant St, New York, NY 10003

A Japanese speakeasy in which Grace spent many hours "waiting" for Yoon to get out of class. Seasonal cocktail offerings. Walk upstairs into Yokocho Village and turn left into a "closet".

Tina’s Cuban Cuisine

23 W 56th St, New York, NY 10019

We found Tina's by literally following our noses in from the street.

The food, rich and homemade, is as good as it smells.

Kinokuniya New York

1073 6th Ave, New York, NY 10018

A charming shop right by Bryant Park full of hobbyist books and Japanese souvenirs.

(Also where we buy all of our last-minute presents.)

Nintendo NY

10 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10020

We got the limited edition Super SNES Classic here after waiting in line for two hours!

Frankly, one of our sole reasons to ever come to this part of town.

Riverside Park

Riverside Drive - Morningside Heights to the Upper West Side

Grab coffee and cookies from Levain Bakery and take a peaceful walk along this underrated stretch of waterfront.
